Quilling, music, abuse of one character muse

Quilling: Getting a ton of quilling done, this morning, having finally realized that things would go a lot faster if I were making my coil and wheat-ear leaves a little more assembly-line style (apply one step to all the strips at once, then go back and do the next step on all at once, etc) rather than making them each completely one at a time. Zeppelin is always good for individual songs. For whole album goodness I always recommend Pink Floyd (but you can't take the song away from the album, just put the disk in, push play and roll with it).

Yeah, I added some more Floyd to the iPod about the same time my Zeppelin collection tripled in size. *grin* I have to be in the right mood for concept album stuff, but quilling time is definitely a good time for it, since it's usually a couple of hours of uninterrupted music-listening time.

Dean's a punk and keeps making me cry. Tell him to stop it.

He's trying to make me cry, too! And all I want to do is write silly humor! Stupid Dean.

Oh that Dean. So contrary! :D

Yay for quilling! I freely admit, it took me awhile to get the assembly line concept too. I think that when you start out, you want to make something, want to see the results of your efforts, not just roll individual pieces.

I ♥ Led Zeppelin! I ripped their whole collection from a friend of mine, and yeah, you can listen for hours and get a little bit of everything.

Yeah, I'm experimenting with designs (because it would be too easy to, you know, use a pattern *headdesk*) right now, so every card is getting made one at a time. But once I figure out which ones work the best, I realized that I can pre-cut all the strips I'll need for a given design, put them in a pencil case with a tool and glue, and then when I have ten minutes of down-time, wherever I am, I can take them out and make the shapes ahead of time, then just make a bunch of cards all at once when I have a ton of shapes ready.

(Zeppelin love! Woo!)

It's always nice to see all generations appreciating good music.

*grin* I worked with my husband's best friend, who's a huge classic rock fan, for two years, and he had a huge impact on my musical tastes.

*facepalm* Dean, why can't you listen to Marie for a change? I mean, really.

It really would be nice. Just to mix things up, you know? But no. *throws more paper at him* I'm *this* close to just embracing it and making the whole ficlet set an angst-fest.

Heh. He does bring excellent angst. But the fandom is full of Dean's angst! Be funny, Dean, please; in the wake of the season finale, we need all the laughs we can get.

(btw, that fannish poem on your delicious list? *dies of teh awesome*)

I know, we need the funny! And apparently I can only write the funny when I'm trying to be serious. Gah.

Wasn't that poem something? I loved.
