1. Have begun a new running regimen that involves letting Mr. Bill basically kick my butt into running farther, more, faster, whatever. The idea is that if I'm working more strenuously, I'll somewhat make up for all the holiday goodies I'm already eating. We shall see ( Read more... )

I LOVE that book. I picked it off of a huge list for my history class in high school (because I figured I knew something about the Civil War after reading Gone with the Wind at least 800 times) and it was fantastic! Even for a silly 17 year old. :)

GWTW is what originally made me want to read more a about the Civil War era. The Killer Angels (which I read partly because it was Civil War and partly because Joss Whedon gave it as an inspiration for Firefly) really cemented my interest in the war itself.

Heh. Generally, when we play chess, my husband tells me when a move is really, spectacularly stupid and lets me take it back. Because as much as I love the game, I completely fail at chess (and I'm a humanities major playing a math major...if he let me make all those mistakes there would be almost no game). So really, in all fairness, I should have let him have the move back. But I wanted to beat him just once. It will probably never happen again, though. *laughs*
