So much. I'm not sure quite why, but compared to my closed-hole Yamaha, they sound wonderful. It's just a much richer, fuller sound. Admittedly, they're harder to play, especially for me with my terrible hand positioning, because if you don't cover the holes properly, you don't get a note. But after a while you get the hang of it. And hopefully it'll improve my technique.
Plus, if you concentrate really hard, you can feel the air in the flute vibrating against your fingertips as you blow. It's amazing.
