I was driving home from a meeting just now and "Simple Man" came on the radio and I got hit by the SPN feels so hard I said aloud, to my empty car, "OH MY GOD."

I agree with you. I liked the song Simple Man before, but after its usage if 5x03 I love it just so much more. It is a great montage and usage of the song. And 6x01 for Beautiful Loser is an equally wonderful usage of song and montage. I do love that montage on how they showed Dean now and what he was before. So heartbreaking and so perfect with the song. Both great songs and montages.

Yessss. It's a great song but it has forever been attached to SPN and Sam and Dean, making it the greatest of great. Same for "Beautiful Loser," though outside the context of 6x01 I probably wouldn't be into that song--not really my style. (Sorry, Seger!)
