It does make a valid point, but to the wrong people.
The people who are interested in segregating people into categories so that they can elevate one for their own self-image, perhaps by virtue of condemning those who are in the category to be reviled are the ones who need to have this hammered into their head on the end of a nail.
As for those of us who agree, we're preaching to the choir, which has its place for our own self-esteem building, I suppose... but too much of it ends up being an intellectual circle-jerk.
Sometimes I find a little preaching is healthy though...helps me keep the different melody and harmony lines sorted and avoid hitting false notes, to follow the metaphor.
It would be nice to have a way to hammer things home with the people who need it though. Of course, this isn't where I would start - basic concepts like "All humans are worthy of basic dignity" and "no one group or person has a lock on morality" would come first in my book.
