I'm almost wholly incapable of offense, I confess. Do they just hand bats out for free? Or is it an "attack and get some bats in the face" deal?

'Almost' is enough to take one down, if you're slippery.

[Lilith grins.] From what I saw, if a bear bleeds then out pops a swarm. They bite; in that case I would suggest you haul ass or buckle down.

First time I've heard of that... so you're a danger seeker? [He's a little surprised, though it's not showing in his voice.]

But there's got to be something in there the crew are hiding, considering all the defenses placed around it. I'm not afraid of death, so I figured I'd give it a shot. At the very least, come back with more info than I have right now.

That's too bad. I rather liked the other ones in the Kuma-Ko.
