Is anyone else vaguely disturbed when reading smut written in the first person.

But, I agree. There should be description and loads of details. I really loved writing it and, yes. Totally agreeing with you.

Hmm I shall have to go hunting for yours.

There is nothing wrong with having written it (writing this post was actually tempting me to possibly try writing something in the first person to see if I could do it, it seems like an interesting challenge) I have just been irritated with the few I have read (or tried to read) not taking advantage of the possibilities present when using the first person. Using the first person can make something so much more dramatic and personal and yet every time I have seen a smut attempted in the first person (up to this point) the author seems to wimp out and just skim over the experience.

When I read a story in the third person I am a voyeur taking amusement from observing the actions of the characters. When I read a story in the first person I want to live vicariously through that character to know their thoughts, feelings and emotions to understand why they care about what is happening and why they are reacting as they are.
