Whot! A happy ending?! And two in a row? Well, it's a Christmas gift after all. :)
This is basically how I see the evolution of the brothers' relationship in the last five years, hopefully with a happy ending for S10. (I know, I'm delusional. Let me.)
The mirroring between the demon blood!Sam to demon!Dean storylines popped in my mind straight when I first listened to the song, but it took me a long time to figure out exactly how to do it. The split screen seemed like the right idea at the time, but it's unconventional and I'm super anxious about it being too confusing and just giving everyone a headach.
Most of the time the right side is reserved for Dean's MoC / Demon storyline and the times he hurt Sam, and the left side is for Sam's demon blood addiction story. If you're familiar with the right-brained, left-brained dominance theory I think you'll understand my choice for this.
On the technical aspect, I'll just leave you with this pic. Calling it insane is a total understatment. I still wish I had a few more days but I wanted to make it on time for Christmas, so please excuse any sloppy edits.
amberdreams wanted "Sam/Dean, J2, Dean centric, Sam centric, it's all good", so I tried to answer all of the above (excluding J2). She also said she loves "the epic love story of Sam and Dean in all its forms (including Gen), angst without soppiness, twisty dark stuff, hurting the boys, especially Dean" and added: "I like both Sam and Dean when they are dark, especially Sam." Of course there were a lot of other fantastic things and prompts in her likings but these are the ones I focused on.
With the help of the mods I recieved an excellent list of amber's favorite scenes and did my best to include as many as possible, and I may have stocked your journal to find the right music. :D I was delighted to see you like Imagine Dragons just around the time the song was released, it's practically written about the boys.[Open the cut if you're curious to know what those scenes were.]
- The opening sequences of Lazarus Rising (from the grave to Dean staring out of the shattered gas station)
- The picnic bench scene where Sam leaves after they get War’s ring
- when Dean shows Sam how to repair the Impala in Season 3
- The boys bleeding together in Bloody Mary, Dean smearing the blood from Sam’s eyes
- Any scene where they sit on the Impala drinking
- The exchange between them when Sam overcomes Lucifer in Swan Song
- The reunion at the end of The End by the bridge
- Sam manhandling Dean in ?? (my addition: Yellow Fever) when his eyes flash yellow
- Sam looking after spaced out Dean in the Pishtaco episode
- Sam fixing Dean’s dislocated shoulder after they jumped out of the church window
That's it! I have a few ideas and a couple of WIPs in the making, but I suspect that with RL getting in the way soon I won't have much time for them in the near future.
Now if you excuse me I'm going to sleep forever. Or at least until tomorrow morning.
