Before I begin, I want to say a huge THANK YOU EVERYONE
for the kind words last week. So many people replied, and I really feel grateful to everyone. I was mainly shaken, not by the fact that they took my stuff, but that there were people in my apartment that I didn't know, invading my personal space. It really unnerved me

I can't believe they kicked your door in, that's like something off a TV drama. I'm glad something happened to make them leave before they took more than they did.

Is that a condo or are you renting? I'd recommend getting a more secure door & so forth if it's yours. I've heard tell of thieves that go back for a second hit after you've had time to replace what they took the first time.

*sighs* Its an apt we're renting.

I've got a latch on the door now to put on when we're home and while we're asleep. I also have more support in the frame, so it would be harder to kick in. But I think we're going to see about getting an alarm system put in. I'm not sure if our complex does that. Since Chris might be traveling a bunch this year, it might be worth whatever the cost is to get one.

I did have a nice Christmas, even though it was with his parents. :) I'm glad this chaotic year is almost over, but it was good. I hope next year is a little better though.

We think it may have something to do with the fact that I got my carpets cleaned last month. That person went all through my apt and saw what we had. They knew nothing was in the bedroom, which is why they never went in there. They knew we had TONS of gaming stuff as well as computer shit. They HAD to have known. Especially since they hit my 2nd floor apartment at 4:30 in the afternoon on a Tuesday.

Fuckers.

And yes. That is THE Bobby! Not surprisingly we became really close after high school. Jenni fucked us both over multiple times, which probably brought us closer together. We're not in contact with her at all anymore. REALLY long story.

Now Bobby and I can't function without each other. Him and his ex-bf live in the apt right below us, so we're literally right on top of each other. hehehe Chris loves hanging out with Bobby, which is great. It prolly looks odd to other people, because most of the time its the 3 of us when we do stuff or go places. Out to eat, shopping, trips, etc. :)

I knew you two had become close- I don't know why. I think somehow, I ended up finding you on here, or talking to Spacey, and talking to Jenni, too. I lost complete contact with Bobby. I try to IM him every so often, but he never gets back to me.

You're lucky then. I really have no contact with anybody from high school. I get the occasional text from Mike Roberts, and I did see Manny last year, but other than that, nothing. I haven't spoken to Chelsea in over a year...

... amazing what time will do to people.

After the first year, I completely lost touch with Marci, and the whole Jenni fiasco happened. I still talk to Rachael tho. She was my matron of honor. :)

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear about the break-in!!! *hugs* I've often thought about how I'd react if something like this happened to me and indeed the violation of one's privacy is the worst part of it all. :( But it's fortunate you and Chris are okay. :) Here's hoping they catch the asshats who did this and that you manage to get yer stuff replaced quickly. Muchos strength yer way! *more hugs*

Thank you! I'm feeling pretty good now. We've finished talking with the insurance peoples, we're just waiting to find out how much they're going to give us. The people took $5000+ in stuff from us, so Chris is hoping to get at least $4000 back (we have a $500 deductible).

I think the major problem I had with it all is the fact that they were invading my home. My personal space. Its just...unnerving.

We're okay, and so are the kitties. :)
