I didn't go to bed until well after 1am and woke up before 6 and couldn't go back to sleep. Thus my lack of sleep excuses my delayed reaction to last night's events.

I like the reincarnation angle. That's much more palatable to me (and more interesting from a fic point of view.)

Mostly though: MILES! RICHARD! OMG! :D

To me, reincarnation makes more sense and it a bit more true to the grand scheme of the show. The end is not really the end, and that makes me happy. And yes, reincarnation fic - coming up!

I KNOW. I never, ever want to get over the overjoyed feeling of know that those two are alive and free. Seriously, anything could have happened - Jack could have woken up on the island and revealed the entire altverse as a dream or something (rendering the entire season pointless) and I would not have cared as long as Miles and Richard were on that plane. :D

I've mentioned this in your first "The End" discussion post, but I'm getting really wedded to the idea of Miles/Richard raising or at least seriously bonding with Ji Yeon. Just to really complete the family angle for Richard--he finally gets to have one that won't die before him.

Yes, reincarnation! Reincarnation fic! My ideas pre-"The End" still stand. Though I feel a little awkward since that reincarnation plotbunny was still pretty apocalyptic, and that seems to weirdly clash with how happy the finale made me--but, my apocaplyse/reincarnatoin fic still intrigues me, and I still try to inject some happiness into it. Like, even if the world's gone to hell around them, the fic Lost cast has still managed to keep a lot of their family alive and together.

But I do have some new reincarnation plotbunnies post "The End" too. :)

I love the idea of Miles/Richard bonding with Ji Yeon! :D Somehow Kate and Sawyer were just the first people who come to mind to really reacho out to the kid, though. But Miles was Jin's friend too, so yeah. Besides I have other ideas for Kate and Sawyer. Kate's obviously staying with Claire to raise Aaron. I'm kind of married to the idea of Sawyer going to Miami and finding Rachel and Julian. Not anything romantic or shippy, but I kind like them coming together to properly mourn Juliet. I feel like it would give Rachel closure because she's spent six years not knowing what on earth happened to Juliet. I can imagine her becoming close friends to Sawyer and him bonding with Julian. Plus, I wan Sawyer to be a part of his daughter's life. It's kind of unrealistic (and unwanted, ahem) for him to get back with Cassidy, but after everything he's been through I think he would be a great dad to Clementine. :D ( ... )

I thought about that too, Sawyer looking up Rachel and Julian and telling them (at least Rachel) what happened to Juliet and trying to look after them. But in my Richard-obsessed mind, I added in Richard, because maybe in between the sheer glee over being mortal again and Miles friendship, he'd remember Rachel and Julian and start to feel more guilty over recruiting Juliet, which reasonably did lead to her death. Granted, Richard did have a time loop to worry about; and although I'm not sure how much 'following orders' is an excuse, and whether it's something Richard would accept now, I find that intriguing 'cause eventually Juliet herself does start following orders too among the Others--until she rebels and strikes out on her own ( ... )
