I can't remember the source, but.

I seem to remember a report which basically said 'once a teacher has established habits within a classroom, their experience as a 30year and 5year teacher plays little role in their ability to teach.'

Also, I recall that, within California at least, it's near impossible to dismiss a teacher for anything less than gross misconduct.
