What is interesting, however, is that there are at least a couple of other areas in which war might develop. Egypt is overcrowded and surrounded by empty land: I see no reason why, for instance, it might not decide to invade Libya and get itself some nice oil and territory. More seriously yet, the Brotherhood is at war with Syria's tyranny, and thus with Iran, as we speak. That is, the two main forces for Islamism in the Middle East are even more in a situation of hostility and near-war than Mao's China and the Soviet Union ever were. At this point, Israel ought, in my view, to quietly stop playing up the Iranian threat, because right now the worst strategic nightmare it faces are not the yet unbuilt Iranian nukes, but a possible Brotherhood victory in Damascus.

Israel is very likely to be facing another Arab-Israeli War on multiple fronts, as happened in 1967 and 1973. The Israelis need to stop worrying about peace negotiations and start worrying about how they are going to win this war -- and this time, resolve to keep any territory she takes, instead of being gulled out of it by false promises of peace.
