Yeah I read that article and was like O.o.

People will probably freeze to death and the police will be blamed for that too.

Also, Off-Topic but OccupyDC has declared they are going to secede from the Union this week. I'm baffled.

I am very concerned that all of the Northern #Occupiers will just pack up and head South, like here to Phoenix. Not only do we not have anything resembling a truly "cold" winter, we also don't have any particular weather patterns that would disrupt an encampment. There might be a freak rainshower but it will last 10-15 minutes at most and while flash flooding is sometimes a concern, its not so much in the areas around the state capitol buildings. So, realistically they could camp until say, May or even June before we consistently start to see 115*F weather and then they could move north again. About the only deterrent we have is Sheriff Joe but so far the capital has been using Phoenix Police (he is County Sherriff) to control the #Occupiers ( ... )

Still, I have been wondering the same thing, especially considering New York State is being hit by a pretty bad storm right now. I'm surprised there haven't been reports of them fleeing en masse.

I'm wondering if they are already dying. In a snowstorm people lying on the pavement can easily fall asleep, be buried by snow, and not noticed for a while. I assume that the vast majority of the Occupiers will live, but I suspect there's going to be a lot of frostbite cases, especially given the overall lack of common sense and proper clothing.

A bit of a side note: they think that getting "military grade" survival gear will save them? Not neccessarily... My brother is a Navy aviator and so he had to go through all of the survival training. The final leg consisted of being taken to Maine in January and dumped in the middle of nowhere...with military grade survival gear and survival training, of course...and it was still very difficult, made even more so as we're all from Florida. These kids have no idea what they're getting into.Agreed ( ... )

Oh, and you forgot to mention that in the cold their iPad, iPhone, iBook, iLaptop, iElectronicSecurityBlanket, iVideoCamera batteries aren't going to work worth a damn! Not going to be hearing much from them I'm afraid!

I knew this was coming, but these stupid moonbats couldn't see it. Unforch, some of these neo-hippies are probably going to freeze, but the "community organizers" could not care less. Hell, they're probably hoping it happens. Then they can use this to whip up sympathy.

Too stupid to survive winter? They are too stupid even to understand that they are being used.

Here in Montana, they are already just packing up and going home at night, leaving one guy there to make sure no one steals the tents. But it's still in the 40s during the day so far. Even our homeless population pools its vodka money and rents a motel room and crams bodies onto all available floor space when winter sets in.

Good grief, these fools are still at it? I haven't been keeping up with it much because they make me so sick. But I didn't realize they were planning to do this on a long-term basis.

Good luck in Chicago! All I know is that these filthy slobs better not take over all of the indoor places downtown where civilized citizens go in winter to get out of the house. I have deliberately stayed away from where they have been protesting because I can't promise I will not start screaming at them and get myself in trouble. I have *zero* patience for this movement and all the people supporting it. I have never seen anything so stupid in my life. This tops even the so-called peace protests we saw during the Bush years.
