You ain't a villain, Pyro. Don't let 'em make ya think otherwise.

An' it shouldn't be about Us vs. Them. It should be about mutants unitin' an' pavin' the way to a brighter, happier future.

But we ain't villains. They'll realize that all soon enough.

This whole thing was sort of meant to be sarcastic, Rogue. I mean, yes, I think that's what is thought of us. Everyone - well, not everyone, but just the general public - thinks we are, Rogue. And that's bullshit. I don't think I'm a villain either, Rogue, and someday they'll change their minds.

The only reason why there is an Us vs Them is because they keep sticking their self-righteous noses into it and trying to stop us, which automatically makes two sides of it.

Theres always some truth behind sarcasm though.

An' I don't think they'll ever stop stickin' their noses where they ain't needed. Hate ta say it. Just gotta deal with it.

They think I'm a villain. I know I'm not. How am I not being clear.

Oh, I deal. I'm just saying. So, we'll always be Us vs Them, that's just the way it is.

And, no, I'm not trying to pick a fight with you, I'm really not so please don't go get all huffy.

Shouldn't be about heroes and villains. It should be about us mutants against the people that want us dead like SINISTER!

Don't disagree with you there, Sal. Not completely. It's just... well, that's the way it's seen, whether we like it or not.

How do you think you'd feel if opinion shifted and suddenly the Brotherhood WERE lauded as heroes? And you were voted America's Sexiest Man? And you had screaming fans everywhere? And people asked you for autographs?

I have no fucking clue. I seriously doubt that extreme will ever happen. Not when I'm still young and studly, anyway.

Have faith, young Padawan.

Anyway, the world seems to deal with super-powered humans, and aliens, and robots ok. Why not mutants?

I think you're more of an anti-hero, actually.

john_ispyro September 9 2007, 07:38:58 UTC
What do you mean by that?

"The anti-hero, as protagonist in fiction, deals with his flaws and those of the people he meets in the course of the story. The typical anti-hero lives by his own values, and is guided by his personal moral compass, striving to define and construe his values, per se, as opposed to those recognized by the society of his world."

So says Wikipedia. So it must be true ;-)

Riiight. The ever reliable and trustworthy Wikipedia.

Still get weirded out at the "hero" part of the word. But it's closer than "villain".
