The girls and I went with their Girl Scout troop to the Christmas train event in Irvine Park this week. There was a bunch of different Brownie troops there and all of the parents and kids were in a jolly mood. I can't decide if I should go shopping on Black Friday. I hate the lines and the crowds and the pushy, irritated people. But the deals sometimes make it worth it. Ever since I can remember, we would always write out a list of things we wanted for Christmas and give it to my mother in the middle of November. It is strange that life goes on for many people. They had forgotten about the fires by Monday. But there are others that will never forget because of what they lost or what happened to their family. We were evacuated from Saturday to Monday. Thankfully we had Hubby's father's house to go to. He lives by one of the evacuation centers and it was hard to watch people being turned away from there because it was full. We tried to go home on Sunday, but the police had the streets blocked off and were turning people away. Fire trucks and police ( Read more... )

Hubby had a doctor's appointment with the infectious disease doctor yesterday and is apparently making "great improvement". He only has IV antibiotics administered at home until the middle of next week, then onto oral antibiotics by a pill. That is good news. I never knew that infections can be so detrimental.
