Of course it was one of the top plays! You can't put a bear, a pirate and sexual harassment in the workplace in the same play and have it not be a hit!

Don't forget a mini-makeout scene (OK, kinda), a German Psychoanalyst, and Dave Matthews.

I caught more flak for that last thing than for any other. I challenged the people who asked me about the musical choice to "Find me a song that talks about dreaming and the drudgery of the workplace AND is upbeat." Most people were stumped.

True dat.

Really? I hadn't heard of any grief (other than Mother's) about the piece.

What night were you planning the post-SOTU karaoke outing? I want to put that on my calendar right away.

Well, you know. The tech person came up to me before and after every show and said "I STILL hate Dave Matthews. So does my boyfriend." I kept telling her that I wanted it to be played longer before fading into "King of the Road (the Lead-in Music for Perfect in Memory).

I was thinking June 27. That's a Friday night, we'll have a friend in town, and there will be no Strike after the show. I usually like to go to Karaoke on Saturdays, but one must make acrifices in these trying times.
