mnemex picked it up today, and I spent some time opening a can of whupass on him.

My first impressions:

Officially, the Soul Charge move seems to be used to access a skill that needs activation, if you have one (this might explain why with some characters, using those keys seemed to do something cool, whereas with others, it was just a taunt; dunno).

Played around a bit in character creation mode -- looks like different pieces of equipment make (theoretically) balanced changes to a character's stats; mucking with attack, defense, and health, but also changing your five "skill pools" You can then use the skill pools to purchase skills (with active and passive uses). Dunno what happens if you try to get two skills with two different active uses.

While the game only allows 50 custom characters to have been created at a time, it does let you copy most of the game to your hard drive (thus hopefully speeding up loading time). I did this after you left.

Switching characters can't happen at any time, there's apparently a "switch pool" that builds as you fight. No idea where that's indicated.
