I set fire to the rain

My beautiful black cat, Midnight, died Sunday night. He was fifteen years old. He's been sick off and on the past few months, getting better and then getting worse again. Oh, my condolences. Losing anything you are connected with is hard, but it is worse when those close to you suffer such a loss, and you do not suffer as much, for you feel guilty and you also need to console them.
But this is the way of the world. It gets better with time, the grief is forgotten, and you will always have the good memories.

I am hopeful that visiting Mom this weekend will help ease some of her sense of loss, as she always seems to cope better when she has plans to make and follow through on. Thank you for your sympathy, coz.

It was the best end we could have hoped for, really. I wish I had been able to be there with him, but this is one of those less-fun parts of living at the other end of the state.
