I want to watch A Knight's Tale again. Chaucer, man. So clever and Cereus-looking; Paul Bettany is just beautiful. He's only ... oh snap, he's sixteen years older than me. Well. Moving on >.>

I never do fancastings, but he'd be my ideal Barquiel :)

I can kind of see it. I have issues remember that Barquiel has very light blonde hair - I keep trying to picture him with hair closer to bronze or warm blonde, like the rest of his family. Also I think I'm too in love with Chaucer!Bettany, who is sort of subtly sarcastic and not as hard-edged as I see Barquiel. But I'm sure he could play Barquiel amazingly.

I thought that movie was actually kind of stupid. The only reason I could like it was because of Chaucer. As for age... there's a formula for that, you know... I just never remember it. Just as well, I suppose.

I'm glad you're progressing well with your thesis.

How is this fair? Authors never do tours in Israel. It is incredibly annoying to learn that all my friends and family get to go to such events... well, I will content myself with those personally dedicated books I received from Sherwood Smith and Sharon Kay Penman in the mail, and with the hope that Sharon will come here after she finishes A King's Ransom to do research for her next book.

My cousins are also coming for the weekend, and I will finally get to meet my cousin's fiance and my new baby cousin again. Family is very important, as we know.

So, we must start planning the party, yes? Two months, hmm... *goes off to organize things*

I enjoy the occasional fluffy movie, and I liked A Knight's Tale. I don't think it's, like, the pinnacle of artistic achievement, but I think it's entertaining, and that's good enough for me. Plus it has Wash and he doesn't get impaled or anything. The formula for age is, I believe, half plus seven - as in, the younger partner must be seven years over half the older partner's age. For Paul Bettany, that would mean 22, so I'd qualify. Yay!

Briggs's tour had really random stops on it; we don't usually get big name authors down here in NOLA, either. I'd imagine Israel is even further off the beaten path, though ^^;

Hooray for finally getting to meet family members, right? It's disconcerting to me not to have firsthand memories of someone to whom I'm related.

Oh, don't get me started on family members and not having memories of them. We have a family circle, which meant local reunions every year, and one big all across America reunion every four years. I was in some of those, but always as a child - we have pictures of it, but precious little memories. Now, every time we go to America and happen to be near a family relative, we must go see them. Some (mostly those living in the New York area) I know, and know well. But others... my mother will comment on how I'd played with them or something, and I'd be 'sure, Mom, whatever you say'. And the same happens when any relative happens to visit Israel. It's nice, but amazingly disconcerting. Thankfully, after meeting them I can actually keep in touch through e-mail and social networks.
