I don't blame you for freaking out. Especially if the neighbor guy at the end gives you weird vibes.
I'm glad he's okay. :)

:) Thanks.

So I'm not being an overbearing, overprotective cat-mama? I mean, I know lots of cats come and go as they please and sometimes aren't seen for days and come back perfectly fine... but I just can't do that with Simon.

Nah, I don't think so. Simon isn't really the type to go wandering for a day or too and come back perfectly fine, so don't worry about your reaction. It's perfectly normal, hell-I would worry about any cat that was missing around food-time.
I was the same way with M.C, but then again, M.C was an indoor-only cat. :p

Personally, that's exactly why I think cats shouldn't be allowed outdoors. Too many things can happen to them that can result in injury or death or them getting kidnapped or you just never getting them back.

However, I am okay with the supervised thing. Dustin and I have bought Grendel a little kitty harness so we can adapt her to going outside on a leash, because he used to do that with Magnus and Noob and he misses it.

But that's supervised, that's not letting her outside to go do whatever she damn well wants. And we're not taking her outside until I've taken her to the vet and I KNOW there isn't anything wrong with her.

Simon used to go in and out as he pleased at my old place. I had a window that I kept open for him. I'm not sure how I managed to not be paranoid as all hell, because we were *right* on Stark and I knew full well that he visited neighbors' houses. I guess there's just more places for him to get lost up here.

I had a kitty harness, but Simon never seemed into it. I think if he wants to go outside, I'll just take a book and wander around with him, keeping an eye on where he is.
