Crashing halt

Sep 05, 2010 22:10

My leisurely weekend came to crashing halt when DD2 pulled the ancient heavy ice cream maker down on her head.  DH got to her first and I called 911.  Then we went for a ride in the ambulance and DD2 and I hung out in the ER for a couple hours until she got her stitches and we could go home.  It was much better than her trip in June, but still ( Read more... )

ACK! There's a heart-attack you didn't need. Where did she need stitches? No concussion this time? What a way to start school. :P And you'd think that by age 5, they'd know not to yank on stuff like that. Well, sigh - hopefully she knows it now? *hugs you* Hopefully your adrenaline has calmed down by now.

Yeah, seriously!

The stitches are up on her forehead almost near the hairline. No apparent concussion.

She didn't yank the cord. We weren't there, so we can't be sure, but we think that when she was climbing down, her foot or leg or arm got caught on the cord and caused the machine to fall on her. Blech. As DH said, it was a freak accident and we can't do much about that.

My adrenaline levels are fine this morning:D

Amazingly, she seems just fine. Her forehead is a little sore if it gets touched, but her neck isn't sore at all and her bruised arm seems totally fine too. Too bad we can't maintain that plasticity into adulthood, eh?

How has the move treated you?

Ouchie, poor DD2! I'm glad she's okay and has no worse complications than an embarrassing childhood story to be repeated at her wedding.

Thanks! I wouldn't even say it will be an embarassing story to be repeated at her wedding. We were all amused that she wanted to be transported on the pedi-board and wouldn't sit up. That child...
