So, I'm watching the BBC Prince Caspian, right. And it got to the part where Edmund goes to Miraz with Peter's challenge. One of Miraz's lords, Glozelle, kinda reminded me of someone. Then it hit me: Paul McGann. But I could tell that he wasn't Paul McGann, he just strongly reminded me of him. And I just IMDB-ed the movie and guess what? It's one ( Read more... )

Have you already seen The Silver Chair? You might see another familiar face ;-P

So now, I'm like, how many familial connections in the HP cast can we find to DW?

It is uncanny, isn't it? I assume you know about Roger Lloyd Pack (Barty Crouch Sr.) ... that will be ...weird.

Nope, haven't seen The Silver Chair yet. I now have to squash the urge to IMDB it, cos I want to see if I do recognize whoever it is you're talking about when I watch it. *g*

I assume you know about Roger Lloyd Pack (Barty Crouch Sr.)

Oh, yupyup. I giggled quite a bit when it was announced.

Hee! Weirdly, of the McGann brothers, I'd say Joe's the one who looks least like Paul. But yes, still a recognisable resemblance. He used to be in bucketloads of stuff on tv, but the last thing I saw him doing was presenting weird OB segments in my local news programme, which seemed a bit sad, really.

The Harry Melling thing is most amusing. Saw him in a Poliakoff TV play the other day and was deeply spooked by the fact that he now is really quite grown-up: took me forever to place him.

(Oh, and re The Silver Chair: let's just say you'll definitely recognise the actor in question!)

Heh, I know that there are several McGann brothers who act, but I don't think I've ever seen any of the others.

(Dammit, really having to resist the urge to IMDB it now!)

Aw, the McGanns are lovely. Mark and Stephen are the two that look most alike, I think. Joe's done a lot of comedy. Paul is undoubtedly the prettiest, though:)

Don't think it would be spoilery for you to find out the Silver Chair thing. You will just fall off your chair as you acknowledge the Best. Casting. Decision. EVAR!

Eep - the point of that comment was meant to be me admitting my huge crush on Joe McGann when he was in Rockcliffe's Babies and had a very terrible haircut. But I distracted myself with thinking about SPOILER being SPOILER in The Silver Chair.

I'm not helping now. Sorry.

Dudley is Two's grandson? My god, does Two ever need to come back and whip that boy's ass.

Less meta, but that kid is his SON? OMG, that's like the best thing I ever heard. Holy crap. Wait, I have to go meta, because Dean is one of my favourite HP characters and Ian is obviously one of my favourite DW characters and wow, you just blew my mind.

*giggles madly in all sorts of multi-fannish glee*

Yeah, I didn't believe at first that Afred Enoch was his son. I was, like, "are you sure?" at whatever magazine it was I first read the information from. But he is and I was, like, whoa! Multi-fannish connections yay!
