I like playing with it and see how the variables change the outcome. I heard them talking about it on CNN and I rushed back to the living room with my laptop so I could do it for him and mom. He scoffed at it, but eventually caved and wanted to see the result

The widget is cute, but if you really want to hammer the point across, check out the official tax cut website for it adds lots of other variables, like "over 65," saving for retirement, child care and college expenses, even current mortgage balance. I can't seem to get it any higher that $3,327 in savings with a ridiculous combination of factors: $20K salary (?!?!?), married filing jointly, 3+ kids, child care, $650,000 mortgage balance (pretending they live in a high cost of living area,) retirement savings & college expenses. I doubt it's possible to make it go any higher, but it would be a good tool to show Dad what Obama can do for him

I like the student tax credit thingie idea. I think the government should pay for school though. Or at least give low-income students opportunities for monthly stipends like in France, etc.
