Yeah, I was going to mention that connection between animal abuse and Serial killing. It's a definite warning sign of psychosis.

As for a ban on people who commit a felony, that's an interesting idea.

Our society places so much value on sports and entertainment stars. They ARE role models. And because the public eye is on them, they need to hold themselves to a level of professionalism and high character at all times, not just on the field. High character should be a job prerequisite.

And if the organizations in charge of allowing them to hold those positions (or not) placed more value on high character (or just legal character), they'd be more inclined to behave appropriately (at least that's my hypothesis).

Well, we can wish anyway.

When it comes to corporations, they have to see things in terms of monetary bottom line. In other words, if a person has low character, people will become disenfranchised with them and sales will suffer. Low character individuals become risky business, and no one wants to deal with loose cannons. Which is why any film with Lindsay Lohan will have too much trouble getting insured. They can't guarantee that Lindsay will complete the film.
