Wake-up call, I suppose.

I've mentioned here before that I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis a year or two ago. Truth is, it hasn't troubled me much. Some joint discomfort, but my bigger issue has been tiredness and soreness, which I've attributed to fibromyalgia. I take no meds for either; I just hit up the Tylenol when needed. It's pretty controllable. I've done ( Read more... )

Ah, bb.
*offers hugs*

Better to just own up to it and deal with it. I won't get better by pretending it's not there, so - yes, take meds (if you can) and admit it's there and that way you can actually prevent it from becoming really *bad*, because...yeah.

I'm so sorry your foot is so bad right now, i hope it eases off over the weekend and lets you be up and about again.

ETA: This sounds really harsh but i swear i'm not trying to be nasty. Just...i have too many people in my life who try to pretend 'nothing is wrong' until *everything* is wrong, and it just...bothers me. A lot.

No worries -- I really think that the pretending has to do with the very mild progress of this til now, too, though. It's easy to be dismissive when it's really not troubling you -- it's another to be dismissive if it's really sinking its teeth in. I'd be TRULY stupid if I ignored what's going on now, I think. So it's a wakeup call, you know? Even the doc was pretty laid-back about it, but I imagine he'll take it more seriously now, too.

*hugs back*

Ow! My psoriatic arthritis started with a really bad flare, including my left big toe, and after about six months of treatment it's never been as bad again since. I hope treatment gets yours under control quickly.

Please take care of yourself and let others take care of you too. I know all too well what you mean about forgetting things that have to do with your own health, but once you're reminded, do whatever you need to in order to feel okay again.
