Love your post.

I think that that's why everyone kind of had emotional melt-downs, it was like three seasons of angsty angsty grueling endless sacrificing plot just blown away in a puff of smoke. Sam like freaking saved the world because of the power of his and Dean's love and like it's the completely opposite message of what we've been feeling. It's like Kripke saved the best bits for last, because it's all just like good now.

I mean it was probably the best possible outcome for the metaphorical dark descent we were experiencing the last three years.

I really liked reading your thoughts. I've just skimmed my flist and most reactions have been either negative or WTF, which is completely counter to the way I feel about this episode. I think just about anybody writing an apocalypse storyline is going to end up painting themself into a corner and SPN was no different in this regard, but I don't feel cheated by the ending for the simple reason that it's the boys and their relationship that's the true heart of the show. Their ending is emotionally satisfying (even while it's not because, hello, not together).

am in 100% agreement. I was crying and flailing by the end. I think everyone needs a rest especially Dean. He needs his applepie white picket ending (even if its short lived but I'm hoping it isn't) I have to say how cool is it that Chuck is the big "G" I mean I was waiting for God to show up....and it's Chuck - wasn't expecting that. Looking forward to next Season. Ohhhh Boys!!! *hugs*

I hope you don't mind me delurking to say that I probably agree with your reaction more than anyone else's I've read. Emotionally, this just felt right. No matter how much I hated the fact that the boys are separated for a time, the rift feels healed between them. We all needed a moment of downtime to take a deep breath for what's left to come.
