I won’t do an entire detailed post about SWC Monterey 2010. I will just bullet point the highlights. Here we go:
• Needing the last minute car rental from Enterprise, and getting a real good rate from the cuties there.
• Sirius radio! We listened to either my CDs or Sirius up there.
• The big red SUV that was a road bully, then seeing him get pulled over, AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
• FINALLY getting to the place, LATE! Apologized to Phil Morgan, then he informed me I was assigned to the AIR1 STAGE!! YAY!! The stage I wanted!!!
• Having dinner at Chilly’s with the whole gang. There was nothing on the menu I could eat so I got a side salad, a side of mashed potatoes & some stemmed veggies.
• Making it a birthday dinner. YAY! Got free brownies and ice cream. It was almost like they knew me, hehe.
• Going to say hi to friends at the stage I worked at last year, and then being asked to work, LoL!
• Mel bringing me a birthday cookie, hehe!
• Going on stage IN MY PUPLE DISNEY PJs!!!
• Talking with some cool chick that performed. Turns out she was from American Idol, AHAHAHAHA!
• Going on stage in my PJs, poofy hair, and sweaty face, WITH MY FAVE BAND PERFORMING!
• Getting to work for one of my fave bands (Tenth Avenue North), even though I was all sweaty & gross & was wearing PJs, LoL!
• Chatting with Ruben.
• Chatting with Jason…and telling him I really wasn’t a stalker (AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!)
• Of course I brought them gifts, HELLO!
• Setting up the stage while Jeanette talked to Mike about how big of I fan I was and got my journal signed (I did not tell her to say that, but she did, lol!)
• Buying a purple 10th Ave North shirt
• Tenth Avenue North singing me happy birthday, AHAHAHAHA! (kinda, not really, but still, LoL!)
• Next morning heading to the Air 1 stage & getting my pass & assignment. I was TOTALLY getting to work with some of my absolute faves!!
• Family Force 5 doing sound check…and Jeanette freaking out.
• Went to go see Jaymes Reunion. Cameron Jaymes looked so good. The drummer was a 4th grade teacher & his students were there with a sign that read “My 4th grade teacher rocks.” My fave part was when Cameron told a story. His brother had broken off his engagement (later it was for the better, but at the time it hurt) and he was not there for him. Cameron wrote him a song to deal with what happened and presented it to his brother. His brother told him, “THAT’S YOUR JOB!! That’s like me saying ‘I’m sorry. Here, buy some medical equipment.’” Don’t ask me why but that was like a light bulb moment at how true that was, and it made me laugh, AHAHA!
• Leaving Jeanette in line to meet Family Force 5 and going to my stage to work.
• Going to the Air 1 stage and meeting new people.
• Brooke Barrettsmith, the cool chick from the night before, was performing.
• That girl Becca, I know her from somewhere.
• Bread of Stone was pretty awesome.
• Mel saying she was going to steal me and I had to help her with artist hospitality. Pretty cool!
• Going to “dinner”, but really sneaking away to see 10th Ave North perform.
• “He’ll break open the ski-i-ies and save those who cry-y-yout his name, the one who winds and waves obey is strong enough to save you.” Something about hearing that song live was so touching and AMAZING!
• Mike coming out into the audience and singing right in front of me
• Mikey tripping over the fence when he came out into the audience, LoL!
• Mikey pointing out that Brandon was wearing shades in the dark. Brandon saying, “They make me look cooler.” Heheh!
• Being completely touched by 10th Ave North. I love them SOOOOO much!
• Going back to my stage to see the last bit of Abandon Kansas. They were pretty good.
• Becca and I figuring out we both went to APU and both were music majors, but there was something we used to do, hmmmm….
• Matt Pitt walked in, and I had to hold my breath
• Philmont was KICK BUTT AWESOME!!!
• Family Force 5 being crazy. Like seriously, they were CRAZY!!
• Getting some creamer out for the artists and the lead singer of FF5 singing to me “Baby, baby….”
• Did I mention that FF5 was CRAZY??
• Mel and I made the beds. She come by 5 mins later and said “FF5 totally messed up and undid the beds.” I said, “I know, I just helped you make them.” She said, “No, they messed them up AFTER we made them.” I said, “But that was 5 minutes ago!” She said, “I KNOW!!” Brittany and I went to go look, and they were a MESS. I was like, “Seriously, we JUST made them.”
• Yeah, FF5 was CRAZY!!
• I REMEMBER BECCA!!! During preview days we would make fake audition sheets and write up fake adjudications. We had electric cello, air guitar, accordion, harmonica, ect. She remembered that too, AHAHAHAHAHA!
• Setting up for FF5.
• Needing to know if the speaker (Matt Pitt) needed water or a towel. Since only I knew who he was I had to go into the green room and ask him.
• D-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d…..
• Matt Pitt speaking in a SLOW, SOFT, southern accent. Yet on stage he is INSANE. Pretty crazy to see him backstage, pretty serene like that.
• Matt Pitt PREACHING IT with so much energy and enthusiasm.
• Being allowed to go and see JEREMY CAMP!!!
• Jeremy Camp being AWESOME!! I know it was like the 4th time in a week, but it was still freaking AWESOME!
• Jeremy singing “Speaking Louder than before.” He hadn’t sung that the previous 3 times, so that made me SOOOO happy.
• Jumping up and down so hard I dented the soft dirt, AHAHAHAHA!
• Going back to my stage and cleaning up for FF5.
• Saving a set list for Jeanette.
• Fan asking me for it & me yelling, “Sorry, this is for someone.”
• The lead singer of FF5 rapping about the popping popcorn, “Oh, I see it, it’s coming, it’s coming, it’s a butterball avalanche.”
• Two other members rapping about the hotdogs.
• Seriously, FF5 was INSANE
• Getting to park next to my stage

Mel: Oh, you do know some of their songs.
Me: No, this is like their third cover song.
• Seventh Day Slumber rocking it
• Cleaning up the green room & seeing the messages Manafest left for Hawk Nelson. (I want to know the meaning of the cheeseball jokes, HAHAHAHAHA)
• Going to get dinner AND MISSING HAWK LOAD IN!! NO!!!
• They didn’t really load in anything, so it wasn’t too bad
• Mel saying that Jason looked “normal” today, AHAHAHAHA! (Earlier she had said, “I wonder how Jason has his hair this time. It’s always something different.”)
• Group 1 Crew coming over & getting to talk to Blanca. She’s so cool & so nice. She probably didn’t realize I was a fan, hehe. We were both trying to warm up in the little sun that was left.
• Seeing Justin on the bed on his phone, and then getting his tweet. I TOTALLY saw him send that tweet, LoL!
• Mel & I blocking the green room entrance (not intentionally). Dan running inside and saying, “I belong, I belong, I have my pass, I have my pass” and showing it to us. I believe his bass was in his hand, it was SOOO awesome, hehe!
• Dancing to Group 1 Crew’s performance, they were SOOOO good, hehe.
• Setting up the Murphy banners. That was LOVE!
• Taking pix of the little gear that Hawk Nelson brought.
• Putting up the Murphy banners on stage & sand bagging them.
• Having to get Justin so that Becca could work with him on his drums
• Helping out on the drums
• Having to give each guy waters and towels.
• Justin: “All this just for me? Thank you!”

• Justin: “Oh man, this is great!”
• Dan: “This is something else, a hockey playing monkey. Put it there Hawk.” And proceeds to fist pump Hawk Nelson
• JP is heaven right about now
• Getting to be BETTER than front row. I was in between the stage and the barricade. Oh man, it was LOVE!!! I jumped and danced and sang my heart away.

• Getting a second set list (this one was Jason’s)
• Getting a drum stick from Justin
• Talking about 10 mins to Justin about Belmont, then about how it’s because of “Live Life Loud”, then about me & my life, then more about Belmont
• Giving Justin some snacks for their plane flight, hehe

• Got a blended white chocolate mocha and drank it on my “side job,” LoL!
• Saw one of the bands propose to his girlfriend, SHE SAID YES!! AWWWWWW!!!
• Going to my stage, working, not knowing any of the bands. At least I had to help Mel out a lot with backstage artist hospitality.

• Realizing the real nice lady was Copelia from Air 1, I listen to her ALL THE TIME! AHAHAHAHAHA!
• Flatfoot 56 load in. YAY!!!
• Becca & the gang deciding that Mark (our crew chief) loved flatfoot 56 so we would get a CD autographed by them. Becca asked if they were there, I said yes and pointed to the bass player (teeheehee). We went to go talk to him and he said he would get us one, YAY!

• Flatfoot 56 having a backstage M&G & me sneaking into it. I told the guys how much my bro loves them but never got to see them live. The bass player (teeheehee) asked me where was my bro from. We chatted a bit more about their shows and such. (Teeheehee) Be proud, at least I didn’t stutter, LOL!
