I'm confirmed for CSW Nationals.   Looking forward to it even if I feel woefully under-prepared.   I have to question the choice of location and hotel though.  It's very expensive and surely has priced many out.  It may well be a great resort and all, but, practically speaking, we're only really there to play scrabble all day.  There must be ( Read more... )

Does anybody reading this have a recommendation for an etymological reference book (dictionary).   I am not looking for a concise source but rather a weighty tome.  I have done a fair bit of research on this online but it seems that most people seem rather dissatisfied with nearly every etymological dictionary out there ( Read more... )

I went to club on Thursday and had a good time. Obviously we were playing TWL which I find very hard these days - it's as if you're playing baseball (or cricket) and trying to hit the ball with one hand tied behind your back.  I went 3-1, but there was plenty of rust.
