046.Silence
Some things were said better in silence than in words.
I trust you. Said his shaking hands as they removed his faithful blue-and-white mask.
I already know who you are. Her hands, so small, yet so soft and comforting, whispered as they encased his shaking ones. But I appreciate the gesture nonetheless.
Two unspoken I love you’s, made all the more real by a kiss, was said when he could feel her heartbeat next to his and could not tell them apart.
Don’t leave me, said six and a half hours in the rain, washing away their tears, clinging to each other as if the world would end if they ever let go, because I don’t know if I can live without you.
And when they made love there were no words, because who needed words when all that could be said was found in the way her hands cradled his face, or in the way he held her both tightly and gently?
“I don’t love you,” He lied out loud, but his trembling hands and desperate eyes told the truth. “I never have.”
“I know.” She said, her voice sounding strong and honest, yet she was unable to keep the tears from falling. “I know.”
Sometimes, words meant nothing.
