We Have a Planter!

This weekend, we finally finished a corner of the yard. Aside from planting two trees, this is the first real progress we've made on the yard! Huzzah! We were so pleased with the planter that we filled it all up. (In the diagram in a previous entry, this is actually the "raspberry" corner... but we put the blackberry bush there.) We planted our

Lovely! :D It is so hard to plant for the heat. I hope your blackberry bushes do well!

I figure if they grow in the nursery, they'll be okay in the heat.... I'm more worried about the clay-y soil. It doesn't drain well... but that's why we're doing raised planters. In areas where we're planting into the ground, we're going to dig a foot down and mix some potting soil in with the "dirt". (My plant science college roommate would correct me and say, "It's not dirt, it's soil.")
