Personal First: Snow Crab

Last night, on a whim, I decided Jordan and I should go out to dinner at Red Lobster. Not only is this very uncharacteristic (I don't like nearly all seafood)... but I also decided to be bold and try real crab for the first time ever. Truth be told, I liked eating pig ear and chicken feet better than eating crab. (Yes, I've eaten both before ( Read more... )

I really enjoy snow crab, but all that butter they give you to dip it in just makes me grimace. I like it best with lemon juice. Lobster, too. :) Glad you had fun.

Yeah... I think the butter made my tummy angry. I didn't think to try the lemon... but I really want to try fresh crab with syrup now... I wonder if I can find a place where I can do that without looking suspicious or gross anyone out.

I'm not sure there's anywhere you can go that you won't get strange looks, but I don't imagine anyone will molest you for it, no matter where you go. ;)

Ah...fresh crab is the best!! We used to catch them in Maryland, take them home and throw them in a pot. Yummy!!

We used to tell Lily that we were giving them a hot bath and when they stopped moving, we just told her that they were sleeping.

But that was when she 3 yrs old. She can handle the truth now. She loves playing with them after they've been cooked. Basically posing them so that they are friends. :)

Glad you enjoyed it!

Posing them is fun. I personally prefer bluffing to use "the claw" on my husband's nose. Fortunately, he finds when I act like a kid amusing...

I was lucky one of us was mature or we'd have probably ended up in a crab fencing match and getting kicked out. Okay, so that's a stretch, but it'd be fun. If I ever go back to the east coast on a trip, I'll have to try REAL fresh crab... off the boat... maybe I'll bring syrup and give that a go. =)
