I saw this article tweeted today and I thought everyone and their effing mother should read this.

Especially you lot who just can't seem to shut up about Lori Weston and how she's "ruining a perfectly good n' slashy show."

Full article HERE. My favorite snippet below.

Stupid people in charge of shows fuck everyone's shit up.... and then the actors get the blame. Not cool.

(I'm not saying they're fucking everyone's shit up here, but in an old fandom I was in, TPTB did that on PURPOSE to piss off the fans!! And then the actors got crapped on for it, even though it was quite literally an executive decision to cause the split between the pairing! it was INSANE!)

Which fandom was that?

It was the Third Watch fandom. I knew people who knew people. Good fandom, that one... batshit crazy fans and PTB at times, but still good.

Are you serious? There are people who think the actors have influence on the big scheme of a show??

Apparently. People are so narrow-minded. Lori's a tertiary character anyway and everyone's acting like she's gonna blow the whole thing up. It's getting ridiculous.

BB I'm sorry part of your fandom sucks :-(

I swear I'm trying to chill about it, but it's seriously hurting feelings. Something I know I can't do a damn thing about thanks to freedom of speech.

*hugs*

Anyone who was ever a fan of Gilmore girls or Veronica Mars should know that this happens all too often. In fact, on those two shows, it was the network itself interfering, and not the actors/writers/showrunners. It suuuuuuucks.

Interesting read, and I don't even watch this show! ;)

The backlash is bloody AWFUL. She's being called Homeland Security Barbie. I mean, SHEESH, people.

I totally agree: the actor has nothing much to say in the whole thing and must do their best with the material given to them. But sometimes, and I am not talkig specifics here, sometimes it's just not the right person at the right place. it does happen.

I got in WANTING to like Lori. it's very very very hard with how she's used and how she plays the part. Her fault? probably not. I find it absolutely horrid how some fans are behaving, though, come on.

Oh I can agree with the timing. Personally, I think we need a Lori centered episode. Make her a victim of an almost murder. Make her the bad guy (the girls tend to go that way apparently *eyeroll). Make her the former governor's niece who's trying to exonerate the governor's reputation. SOMETHING SO THAT FANS WILL JUST STFU.

Seriously, I;m embarrassed to even be lumped in this fandom at the moment.

That's a great article! I don't understand why people go after actors when they're unhappy with a character or a plot. It's not the actors fault.

I didn't realize that people had an issue with Lori Weston.

Good Lord, it's all over the stinkin' place and it's irking me to DEATH. "Homeland Security Barbie," they're calling her. Makes me want to gag. And what's worse is that Lauren German tweeted about it saying she's "doing the best she can." Like to broke my heart. :(
