Remember that Castle post about you-know-what?

When you get people together, [viewers] stop with the yearning, they stop with the wanting. They go "Ah, finally. They're together. All right, what else is on?" I know as an audience member, I enjoy knowing more than the characters I watch on TV know. [With our show it's] looking at these two ( Read more... )

I agree exactly with him. I remember years ago watching the X files and wanting Mulder and Scully to get together. It was "Will they, won't they?" for so long and when they finally kissed.... well I didn't watch the series after that!

Yeah, if it's done right. Look at Booth and Bones. IMO, they just over did it.

There's delicious UST and then there's me screaming at the TV - JUST DO IT ALREADY! D:

Castle is still new and all so it's still interesting and awsome and cute ♥. They are just adorable together. We'll see how it looks when season 5 comes.

I gave up on Bones. :D

Oh I agree. TBH, part of me has forgotten that kiss even happened...or that could be denial.

Also, look at John and Aeryn. Perfectly handled ship right there and tptb didn't wait to hook them up. Sure they broke you a few times but that just made it epiccc. ♥

Don't watch Castle, but I agree... in part. Bones has dragged it on too long. XF got to the point where it was simply a house of cards built on UST and that's just never going to end well. But both of those are just examples of lazy-ass writing. JJ has, IMO, handled the situation quite ably with both Alias and Fringe -- sure, the characters and the audience is put through hell, but Alias - specifically the Syd and Vaughn situation - was interesting right up through the end. I think the other part of the problem is this fairly-tale perspective we have that the only exciting part of a relationship is the chase, the conquest, and then once a couple is 'together' it's happy and boring (unless it doesn't work out in which case it's bitter and horrible). And we wonder why the divorce rate is so high these days ;)

Top be honest, I want more hardcore mysteries on Castle. I mean, yes, their UST is SO much fun, but give us something to watch BESIDES that. And the mysteries are good, but it's always a long time between when they do one of those episodes that seriously has you on the edge of your seat.

Ha. There I go, saying less UST please. :P

But yes, I'm a victim there to. Once it's resolved, I'm done. :D
