Eeeeeee, your reading list sounds super awesome! And do talk to me about the Demon's Lexicon series; I didn't really get into it until Covenant, but that book sucked me right in, and the final book in the trilogy is narrated by one of my favorite characters. :)

While you're reading, don't forget *children's* books, especially older ones that are excellent. I think I know at least three people (peggymwtchex) who will agree that if you haven't read Eloise Jarvis McGraw's MOCCASIN TRAIL, you ought to. In fact, hit several of the older Newbery Medal and Honor books - *if* you can get them. (McGraw's other books are also excellent, as for example MARA, DAUGHTER OF THE NILE; CROWN FIRE; SAWDUST IN HIS SHOES; but good luck finding the last two). And don't forget Rosemary Sutcliff (smile at Bonnie Dundee in my icon), which could I suppose be considered "young adult" but they were written long before that name came to be so I call them children's books.

I think I missed a post, and must go back and see, because I have no idea where you are right now!

I really loved Saving Francesca. I reread it just a few months ago.

Ooh! I see aged_crone has brought up children's books. READ THE PENDERWICKS BY JEANNE BIRDSALL!! OMG IT'S SO GOOD. I JUST GOT MARGARET HOOKED THIS PAST WEEKEND. IT'S PERFECT, SWEET, AND FUNNY NOSTALGIC SISTER FUN.

Also, you should totally join Goodreads now that you're reading for fun. We could be friendsies. Just sayin'. It's a pretty neat place. beth_shulman and brandy_painter and several other Sounisians are over there too. :)

Yes, yes, yes, The Penderwicks is wonderful! And I like its two sequels, too.

I'm in Goodreads but don't do much of anything with it. Mostly I joined because of some girls' series books.

Yay library card!

Yay Jellicoe Road! Yay Saving Francesca! Yay Finnikin! Most definitely yay Riddlemaster!

Also, I need more details on this Secret Country/Cassie Claire plagiarism thing.

AND GOOD TEEN BOOKS ARE FOR EVERYONE. AND GOOD LIBRARIANS KNOW THAT. ALSO READ THE FOLLOWING:

After Saving Francesca, The Piper's Son - more crossover than YA
Crown Duel
Code Name Verity
The Demon King
Okay for Now
All the Connie Willis books

Asking me for book recommendations was a wonderful, terrible idea on your part.

I second all of Beth's recs. Except for maybe The Demon King but I think I need to reread that one. Maybe I was just in a weird mood and that is why it didn't impress me? Everyone else seems to love it lots.
