"Daughter," a deeply resonant voice spoke, breaking her lonely reverie. "Why do you weep?"
It was touching to see Winifred's longing for Hrothbert and her sad conviction that they would never be together, until a gentle voice spoke to her heart.
"Your world does not govern eternity."
I can hear Aslan's voice rumbling in my head even now as he speaks. (Okay, Liam Neeson's voice, but it's still Aslan!)
This is a precious gift of a story. Thank you so much!
Oh, and before I forget ...
KITTEH!!!!!

(Liam Neeson's voice is perfect for Aslan.)
Hee! BIG kitteh! That brings to mind when he bounces around like a kitten in The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe. :D

I must confess again that I have not read or seen the Chronicles of Narnia, but with your stories I am getting seriously tempted! :) I am glad that Aslan told her she can hope! :)
I loved the detail that Winifred wouldnt have seen a lion before! :) A very large cat indeed! :D :D
This is really beautiful! :)

The Chronicles of Narnia series were written for children and are quick reads. I've read them all dozens of times--starting when I was about ten or eleven--and I love them. I'm a sucker for Good vs. Evil and the natural order of things.
The movies are pretty good. I <3 Aslan in them (Liam Neeson, ftw!), but they're not always true to the books--like it often is with movies from books. My favorite is the first and I hope to see Voyage of the Dawn Treader soon! Try out both; you may like them! :)
And thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this. Kitty!

(And of course he didn't tell her when, because that's part of Hrothbert's story and his decisions and sacrifices will determine just how soon the curse breaks. Besides, Aslan calls all times soon.)

Of course, I also know that Aslan doesn't tell the stories of others. And 'soon' is a relative term to someone that deals in eternity.
I'm glad you liked this! :D
