Hallucinogenic fog that makes us attack each other is gone. The monsters are gone. The baby godzilla that tried to tear out my stomach is gone. He's dead. The giant dinosaur from hell was defeated. We're alive.

Savannah was still a little groggy when she received the message.

I think it'll be okay. It didn't manage to rip out any important organs.

Sorry. It was a hell of a fucked up week, Isabel. Hallucinogenic fog caused me to use my powers on a human being. She's okay.

Texting could be useful. But it did have its limits. This conversation had hit them.

Which would be why Savannah's phone was ringing.

Savannah wasn't surprised and she answered the phone.

"I sound worse than it is, I promise."

"Yeah, I'm sure. Nothing some sleep won't fix. But are you sure you don't want Wyatt to come by?" Isabel asked.

"Karla will be coming to check on me and probably heal me. She's a good friend. If the thing had done half of what I think it wanted to do..." Well, Chris would have felt it probably and then Wyatt would known and she might have been dead.

Moving on.

"I drained myself of both power and energy."

"But it didn't and you're okay. Sounds like it was a good fight," she said a bit wistfully.

What? The fight was over. Savannah was a little battered but very much alive. Isabel was allowed to be flip.

"It was okay until I got attacked by the baby godzilla. Damn Isabel, even a branch to his head didn't stop him."

"Baby or not, he's godzilla. He's supposed to be hard to stop. I'm just glad you're okay." Because dealing with Chris and Wyatt if anything happened to her was not something Isabel wanted to think about.

Savannah took a deep breath. "Isabel... I killed it with a spell... a spell I had never used before."

"It was trying to kill you, it deserved it," Isabel replied. "Don't tell me you're feeling guilty about that."
