1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Spent sixteen hours in a psych ward, moved 1500 miles away from home, drove to Detroit and back by myself, went to Miami.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? No and probably not.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.
5. What countries did you visit?
Just the US, again.
6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
Health insurance. lol
7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
October 16th. The day with the pills. The day before my dad's birthday.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Leaving Omaha.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Being flat out broke when I did it.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No, thank goodness.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
That plane ticket to Miami.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
John Kerry's.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
George W. Bush's (that's pretty much a constant) and my older stepbrother's, who up and decided to move to Ft. Worth.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent and stuff.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Miami, meeting JC in Kansas City, seeing Todd at Berkeley, and moving!
16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
American Idiot.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Saving, preparing for the move.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Putting up with bullshit from my boss at work.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
The plan right now is to volunteer at a shelter.
22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
Hell no.
23. How many one-night stands?
Three? I think it was three.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
The Daily Show, and I have a newly-found adoration for The West Wing.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Not that I can think of. I don't really keep a list around.
26. What was the best book you read?
The Politics of Truth. I learned a TON about Africa and our Ambassadors.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Fall Out Boy. I think that was this year.
28. What did you want and get?
A trip to Miami, a couple hundred bucks for the move from my mother, this beautiful apartment.
29. What did you want and not get?
A hybrid car, an iPod, a digitial camera.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I have to say, I really liked The Terminal. My favorite has to be Fahrenheit 9/11, though, as I saw it three times: once with
takemetamars and
mathkiss, once by myself, once with
bridgemonkey and our friend Larry.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I don't remember. I know that was the day I had an interview with
ultrapure for the radio internship, but I don't remember what I did that night.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Winning the lottery!
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Boring work clothes. (Same as last year.)
34. What kept you sane?
Hahaha, not much, apparently! No, really it was my friends. Especially
bridgemonkey. (*waving distance*)
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
This is really, really recent (and I understand that I'm 20 years late on this one) but Rob Lowe. With the glasses on, please.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I get stirred at everything, lately. I have to say it was all the states the banned gay marriage.
37. Who did you miss?
Right now: my parents, Megan, Dustin, Kayla, Doug de temps en temps, Brittany, definitely Todd, my stepbrother in Texas, and my dog.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Matt from New Hampshire, all the people I work with at Robinson's-May, Kat (
yumpkat), Jackie, and all the people at Challenge who I talk to all the time and never get to see.

Baby steps don't cut it.
