yeah you dont know me but i wandered along your livejournal. i just wanted to say i did that piece for speech and debate last year. i think its one of the best short stories ever. try acting it out, it is amazing.
There was a short film done of it I saw on Sundance several years ago. I missed the attribution at the time, but it's stuck in my head ever since, particularly the linguistic turn at the end. Browsing an anthology of essays the other day, I ran across one by mr Wolff, and it resonated in a way that I was a little perplexed by. I spent the rest of the afternoon sitting in the aisle going through his books looking for the cause and finally came across this again. It's good to find an old friend.
thats nice :D. it took me days of reading the story to finally 'get' it. i think comming across it in your lj is a sign that i'll do it again this year for speech and debate. cheers
