*cries and clings to f'list* My amount of computer access has severely decreased. I need to get my laptop fixed - I've got issues with making the thing turn on and hold a charge - but that won't happen until after Christmas. I had been using a family member's computer during her work hours, but sbe was recently laid off, is now ALWAYS on the ( Read more... )

DYLAN! Did you see his one page of AWESOME-NESS in Manhunter #36? I have no idea how his story is going to be resolved in just two more issues... *cries*

As long as no-one, you know, dies and Fabian Nicieza stays on writing the Bird Boys in some way shape or form I will be happy.
EXACTLY! :D I hope think it will all work out and we'll have some very interesting dynamics and stories for awhile...

The cancellations are so heartily depressing because everything came in one fell swoop. I had finally come to grips with the Manhunter cancellation when the Blue Beetle cancellation was announced.
Did you catch Jamie on Brave and the Bold, though? Paco + Comedy + the existance of a Blue Beetle legacy (sort-of)+ Will Friedel + bitter Batman = gold. Sure, it's not the DCAU, but it looks pretty freakin' sweet.
Best things in comics this week:
- Kate's lawer badassery in Manhunter
- Guy Gardner's inability comprehend the term 'diplomatic mission' in Green Lantern Corps
-Floyd's suit that allows him to play dead in Batman: Cacaphony

I KNOW! Reading through DC's February solicits was depressing because five of my favorite titles had "FINAL ISSUE" next to them. It was gutting.

I wish! When it aired, I was out with my Girl Scout troop on our first overnight of the year. I haven't had a chance to dl in yet. I'm really looking forward to seeing it! I've heard nothing but great things about it.

YES! I loved her press conference. ♥

- Guy Gardner's inability comprehend the term 'diplomatic mission' in Green Lantern Corps
HA! YES! Guy is pretty awesome, isn't he?

-Floyd's suit that allows him to play dead in Batman: Cacaphony
Really? I didn't pick it up... I take it this means you recommend it?

I really liked it. It's definately Kevin Smith-y, though. If that's not your bag, then you might not like it.

Thank you! I like Kevin Smith films - not so sure about his comics, as I haven't really read any of his stuff, yet. I've heard he's unreliable as to finishing things and the final issue of this hasn't been solicited yet... but, I'll definitely check it out, now!

I've stopped buying comics. I actually stopped a few months ago and it's been hard to get back in. I'm thinking of picking up some TBP's to play catch up though I doubt I'll start buying comics on a regular basis again but any recs? Oh damn I forgot to ask do you know what happened to seacrystal?

You quit!?!? *is both horrified and admiring* What titles are you interested in catching up on? DC has an unfortunate habit of releasing hard covers months before TPBs or not releasing in TPB at all. *glares at them* Teen Titans: Year One, Superman: The Third Kryptonian, Justice Society of America: The Next Age (#1-4) and Blue Beetle: Endgame (#20-26) all came out recently (but you were reading then, weren't you?)... Green Lantern Corp: Ringquest (#19-20 & #23-26) and Superman/Batman: The Search for Kryptonite (#44-49) come out next week. What titles are you interested in catching up on? From about what issue?

Re seacrystal: Have you checked out recent additions to your "friend of" list? I don't want to say any more here because this is a public entry and she deleted her journal because her rl found her fandom life, but if you need any more information, feel free to pm me. :)

LOL. Yeah trust me it was real life stuff that got out of the way. Things got tight and yeah something had to go unfortunately that was it. *Looks at old comics wistfully*Seriously I don't even know when to start. I read those issues of Justice Society but I guess I may just go look at my local bookstore. I'm thinking of reading some older things. I never got into Manhunter so I may start there and maybe pick up Starman. Any way yeah I'm going to PM you though I think I've figured it out. Thanks for the info. No PM'ing I got it. Thank you again!

*hugs*

I haven't read Starman yet, but I've heard it's really good. It's on my list, too.

Manhunter is awesome and conveniently all in trade up until the current arc.

Are you near a Half-Price Books? If you're going for old stuff, you can find some great deals there - then fill in at your comics shop.

Also, did you know about comicunity?

I wanted so much to post something at comics_squee, but the news this week has been uniformly depressing... :(

*nods along about the news* I teared up about three times reading comics news last week. That's why I made the comics_squee post; I wanted to remind myself that despite the depressing news, the comics themselves are still squee-worthy. *hugs*

Hey you! Sorry to hear about the computer troubles, that stinks.

I re-read all of Grant's run not too long ago, and it was tons better that way! Not that I thought it was bad, of course.

I don't think Timmy's the black glove either, and I wish it was next Wednesday already. I'm going in to work early so I can sit and read it before we open up the shop. :)

Since Dan Didio said DC is "about to increase the level of prominence they [Babs, Dick and Tim] have and their importance within the Bat-universe", and because Fabian Nicieza is "not leaving the Batverse come March"...

That's good to hear! Also: Yay Fabian!

HI! Yeah, I am bummed.

Yay! I always read his comics as "This is going to be crack and a laugh" and don't take anything too seriously. So far, that works for me on Batman and Final Crisis.

HEE! Have fun! I'm so jealous - I won't be picking it up until probably Sunday at the earliest. Stupid Thanksgiving. :/

Fabian FTW! I am very much looking forward to more Dick and Tim (and hopefully Dick/Tim!). Fabian is the bestest - I was reading Action #842 today that he co-wrote with Busiek. I quote, "I'd rather follow Nightwing and his tight butt" - Livewire. Yes, that's right! Fabian can't NOT talk about Dick's behind. ♥ him. :D
