Money! Huzzah! also, if you've watched any of Ergo Proxy, I may have completely failed to give you the final DVD as I found it in my DVD player a couple days ago. So, um, now you know.

Katara/Aang is also doomed to failure, but it's mostly because she really does see him as sort of a brother and he's twelve.

Hmmm... I'm not sure I'd say failure, but definitely hiatus. I could certainly see the "falling in love all over again" storyline, once they're older. (But, I also like things that are cute and squishy.)

Agreed 100% on Sokka and Suki. :D

Maybe failure's too strong a word, because I don't think it would end messily - they would definitely still be close afterward. But to me it never rang as One True Love, y'know? It's not forever.

But then, I like Teh Angst, so maybe my biases are showing. ^_^

I agree with Sokka/Suki, too, and STILL think Katara/Zuko was the best ship.

I had figured it all out- Mai (who I liked, by the way) would sacrifice herself to save Zuko or something like that, and Aang would have had to put aside his crush on Katara in order to reaccess his Avatar state and save the day, which would leave Zuko and Katara to marry as a sign of the new trust between the Fire Nation, Water Nation.

Of course, it didn't even remotely go like that. But still. I just couldn't buy Aang and Katara ("Kataang" if you will- can't believe I know all these shipping nicknames) because he was still just a kid.

I find it amusing that the general consensus seems to be that Sokka/Suki is really the only ship that's going to last while everything else is up in the air.

And I'm fully behind the Katara/Zuko ship. Which is really a weird animal anyway, what with how completely fanatic people are about it and completely *lacking* their interactions were the first two seasons (let it never be said fandom is big on the logic). But yeah, I definitely dig the way their personalities mesh than with other ships.

And I'm just going to throw out that I think 'Kataang' sounds like a sound effect:
