I in no way think black voters are responsible for Proposition 8 passing. I also don't support lashing out at Mormon's because they funded pro 8 campaigning. And, in fact, I'm not fond of anti-$FOO tactics as a way to be pro-$BAR.
I'm just concerned that we, as a race, the human race, seem to have this weird issue where we all agree something is Bad and make a lot of statements about Never Again and then we don't even notice when we're doing it again. As your example excellently points out.
Second, this election cycle black voters turned out in record numbers. Depending on the polling place, estimates I've seen have ranged as low as 9% and as high as 20%. 20% is still not "responsible for passing Prop. 8" and I am still not saying it's "their fault".
