haven't written here for a while...been too busy knitting...
I felted my gargantuan socks...uploading pics now...

well, I finished the first part of the new project: I finished knitting *both* gargantuan socks. now I just need to darn in a couple loose ends and felt the socks into slippers. I can't believe how fast they knitted up! (or perhaps how I just couldn't put the project down?) one whole skein was enough for one sock and another one up to the toe ( Read more... )

I ordered the Granite Glen Tweed for the Rogue sweater (I have a hard time with typing Rouge for Rogue and Rogue for Rouge--argh!). I have a feeling I'll be knitting more than one of these sweaters though...hehe ( Read more... )

today I finally got around to blocking my Pippin scarf. maybe it isn't the proper way to do it but I just used a steam iron on the back to flatten it out a bit. it had been rolled up like a stiff tube, but now the edges still curl under (as they should) but the scarf itself is much more drape-y instead of snake-like. the edges with the fringe ( Read more... )

after finishing the scarf I fiddled around with knitting a narrow sample gauge with larger needles, then got the idea to try to find/adapt the houndstooth pattern to a smaller repeat. I have a teddy bear (Sam) that I think would look great with a mini Pippin scarf, and I want something that will knit up quickly and not be as thick and stiff and the ( Read more... )

pretty much finished the scarf, with 43 row repeats total and raveled fringe. I had made the fringe too thick at first, then had to take out a strand of yarn. the whole scarf needs to be blocked but I've been wearing it just for fun.
