Apparently my brain wanted my first real foray into hockey fandom to be a more mainstream pairing than the 20k+ rarepair thing I've been writing for the past month.

RECONCILIATION STORIES ARE MY FAV-OR-ITE. Also stories about people who are hot messes as a couple but also can't resist one another. Also, teary Kaner is my life. Also, ummmmmm, if anybody is going to be an unwitting homewrecker, it's going to be Tyler Seguin, so that's perfect, and I read this like, "OH MY GOD THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS I LIKE HERE. IS THIS A PRESENT FOR ME?" And it is! So that works out! \o/

Haha, no but seriously: I love college AUs so much. And I really do like how you explored how Patrick's Very Many Feelings, and how it was surprising (but still not exactly surprising?) when it's revealed that he cheated. I especially like how these WOULD be how these two eighteen year old characters would react in a situation like this: it's difficult, and sometimes it feels like the end of the world, but I like that it's hopeful and that you offer the possibility of growing from it.

Also, I am very charmed by your writing style! :D

So, I'm not even a Blackhawks fan (LET'S GO RED WINGS :|) and I kind of fell out of hockey fandom a little while ago but I'm glad I read this. I enjoy your writing style, and I think it fits really well in Patrick's POV. It flows the way I imagine he might think? If that makes sense. It feels natural and conversational, and young which obviously works.

I really liked this!
