Crooked Words

Feb 03, 2005 13:23

Poems I had read recently by a more contemporary queer poet, who has fast become a favorite of mine:

D.A. Powell:

[dogs and boys can treat you like trash. and dogs do love trash] )

queerness, poetry, quotes

Thanks, Budro! But it's an old icon, from earlier last year. I am wanting a new one but -- sans camera -- I'll have to wait to enlist the help of Joe and/or Patrik and company.

These poems are wonderfully "light". :) This man wows me!

Yeehaw! I'll help you hammer down "South" if you'll help me hammer down "Irish", aight?

Wow indeed!

>with a sponge for a brain. and a mop for a heart: he'll soak up your love
>if you let him and leave you as dry as a cork. he'll punch out your guts

>when a boy goes away: to another boy's arms. what else can you do
>but lie down with the dogs. with the hounds with the curs. with the mutts

Glad you like these, Buddy! I own one of his earlier books but got these from this site:
