My college roommate and I used to re-enact the beach scene from Baby Jane whenever she got hella drunk. I'd drag her along the floor by her arm and she'd make crazy noises.
I think we were the only ones who thought it was funny.
I would have laughed my gut completely off! Folks need to open up some internal bank of macabre humor. An old friend of mine likes to get drunk and yell out "My ahhrm! My ahhrm!" (from "To Kill a Mockingbird"); few folks laugh at that either. I just think people aren't strange enough!
I wish I had a better memory for movie dialogue; it'd be incredible to play the scene from "... Virginia Woolf?" where the guests first arrive and George and Martha are in full-tilt drunken verbal war. That scene is both stitch-funny and absolutely frightening.
I had never seen all of "...Baby Jane" until last night. It was incredible. The stylized psychological horror, the genius that was Bette Davis. When she first mimics her sister? (Nod, nod) Yesssss. Beautiful!
Aww Compadre! I WISH I were as domestic-minded as you are. If I were, the homeplace would be better ordered. Hehehe ... .
Good to get out in the reviving nature, though. For now, it has to take the place of a thriving garden. Although we do want to jump on the plant game -- and I guess need to soon.
And no crack about the remembering to live! :) Seems like I spend too much time running around being nervous about nothing at all. WILL kick that habit in the booty!

BTW, the answer to both of your movies' questions is: Michael Jackson.

I AM sure that if Elizabeth Taylor is afraid of Virginia Woolf, Michael would shake in his boots just to be of a stripe with her.
The Mission is good, no?
