i totally agree. I went there when i was in perth with my buddy mikey and we waited AN HOUR AND A HALF for the pasta we ordered. Which was barely edible when it finally came out. All we got was a quick apology. Things arent the way they used to be....

Yeah and we were on the clock! It was my only couple of hours of spare time between work and sleep for the whole week and the moon ruined it! :P

The only possible reason to even go to the moon was it made pretty good food at irregular hours even if you did have to be surrounded by jerks. Now it doesn't even do that. Well they increased the jerks. Got rid of all that other crazy stuff. Like food or service.

Somebody told me a lady from Melbourne or Sydney or somewhere over east bought it a while back and thought she could make it BETTER.

Dunno how true that is but it certainly went to shit all of a sudden. And keeps on getting shittier.

The last time I ate at The Moon the food was so oily that it made me physically sick.

It used to be a great place but it's just crap now.

I think its always been pretty darn oily. maybe you are healthier eater now or something!? it used to be much nicer though as well, so maybe oily wasnt so noticeable.

I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking that DM wasn't brilliant, but okay. Not side splittingly hillarious - certainly had his moments though.

Doesn't hold a candle to Bill Bailey though. :(

It was no monster. But that is why that show is a dvd and this one won't be.

I certainly didn't feel ripped off or disappointed however. Altho it could have been longer. Our so called crappy seats were so close I could have totally jerked off and hit him in the eye. And I almost did. WHich helped make me happier. For I am in love with his irish balls.

actually.. this show is also a dvd, which we have. i think thats part of why i wasnt as ecstatic about the show as i could have been. also, its a hell of a lot shorter than monster, which makes me sad. he did however have a whole bunch of jokes and stories that werent on the dvd, so that made me pretty happy. but also yes. not great, but good.

Ive only ever seen bits and pieces of Bill Bailey routines. The one i saw that was a decentg length (maybe 10 mins) was actually quite underwhelming i found. Maybe i just got a bad one or something?

I remember it being good around 3 years ago. I would go in there on a thursday night with my then girlfriend, the Asian bar manager of unknown sexuality "Zak" would give us full strength long island ice teas, without us ordering any food. The girls behind the counter seemed happy to be there, and quick to chat and share a smile.

I've never been in it for the food, I've never known the food there to be particularly great, and always goes cold very quickly, tho what can you expect late night outdoors. I think the ambience is what did it for us, and perhaps the ambience had some influence in peoples opinions of the food.

The last time I went there the ambience was gone, the staff looked and sounded like they were just punching the clock and there to pay the bills. The crowd was mainly conservative looking students and the music dull house/jazz. In this ambience the poor service and cold food became more aparent and we stopped going.

When i refer to the good old days of the moon, im thinking more like 8 or 9 years ago when Ian used to run the show. even 3 years ago it was a shadow of its former self, but yes.. now its not even that. Its just another scabby cafe with overpriced meals/drinks and bad service.
