Stella came home from work and called her favorite Greek restuarant just around the corner. They delivered often enough to her that they had her address on file. She ordered Keftedes (Greek meatballs, skordalia (potatoes and garlic dip) and two Greek salads. She had red wine on hand, beer and sodas. She'd also picked up some baklava at the bakery

There wasn't time to change from work, not for Mac. Of course he was always the first to arrive to the lab and the last to leave. Right now was no different. He still wore the suit he had worn to work when he arrived at Stella's half an hour later than the scheduled meeting time.

Just as he knocked on the door, his phone rang and it was of course the lab. "Taylor." He turned away from the door and spoke to the person at the other end of the phone. One of the technicalities of being in charge, you were always on call.

"Just a minute," Stella said when she heard the knock on her door. She glanced at her watch, not surprised that Mac was late. She hit pause on the previously tivo'd Grey's Anatomy episode she'd been watching, took a healthy sip of her wine and uncurled from her spot on the couch as she placed the wine glass back on the coffee table. She was still wearing the navy blue slacks she'd worn to work but she'd traded in the jacket and chemise for a boxy, white tunic. She checked the peep hole and then opened the door with a smile, catching Mac on the phone.

"Catastrophe already?" she teased as she held the door open for him.

One index finger in the air indicating 'one second' as he finished the phone call. When the call ended he nodded at Stella. "Of course. More paperwork to push."

"Paperwork we can deal with from a distance," she said as she ushered him into the apartment and locked the door behind him.

"I've got beer, red wine, soda and bottled water. What can I get you?"

Mac bowed his head around a small smile and nodded. "Fair enough. I'll try not to let you down."

"You won't," Stella told him as she took a bite of her food then leaned forward to snag her wine glass.

He couldn't help but chuckle at that. "You seem so certain. I guess that I should thank you but... alright." He took a bite of his food.

"Not necessary. Just start by enjoying the evening," Stella told him with a sideways smile. "You know they remade this several years ago with Warren Beatty and Annette Bening but it just wasn't the same. There are somethings that can't be replicated."
