I'm awfully fond of the hypothesis that came up in this thread on the oyster's garter that Kara was carried off by a sabertooth tiger while Lee was busy making another speech, and was too self-involved to notice.

I'll be interested to see if you still feel satisfied in a week. My experience was that I enjoyed the finale for the hour or so after it happened, but as the warm glow of the space fights wore off, the plot holes and unanswered questions bothered me more and more. The complete failure to explain Starbuck's visions and resurrection, in particular, will make it hard for me to watch reruns or DVDs.
