So this weekend unintentionally became a movie weekend, kicking things off at dear Britney's house with Anime porn and a DVD of hundreds of Adult/Horror film trailers from the 60s and 70s. Kele Okereke's vocals can be a little grating at times, mainly 'cause they're of the yelping variety, but what I really love about Bloc Party's music is the guitar work. And I really, really love the sense of urgency captured on the song "Pioneers."

I understand where you're coming from though. I never, ever "got" The Strokes.

Though I might not like a band in general I can admit when they come out with a good song, and Pioneers was really good.

I still can't stand Bloc Party. I'd be more understanding if they were at least nice.

I never understood Bloc Party either. It seemed that sometimes people listened to them because they were in the NME or it was the "cool" thing to do.

Pioneers was good, but I like the Mystery Jets cover of it waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better.

That's so true; one of the reasons I like Pioneers so much is because they covered it! I didn't appreciate that song fully until I heard Blain singin it.

Mmmmmm, Jason Schwartzman...That is one fine piece of man.

I've always been fond of Bloc Party's lyrics. The lyrics can be a bit repetitive and simple, but it's just the way they arrange them with the quick tempo and sound. Plus, their albums are just great to dance to.

I might be biased though, cause I pretty much enjoy any thing that involves dancing.

I do like a few songs of theirs (Banquet, Pioneers, Helicopter) - I admit they come up with some toe tappers!
