On exercise...

So I've proclaimed in a couple of places that I've made it a goal to ride the Étape du Tour in 2016. This requires a certain level of becoming a better cyclist, and to that end I've done various activities. Yay! :-)

If you're running, consider hashing or parkrun, they're good fun. I should be at Wimpole on Saturday morning, and would happily run a 30min 5K with company... you don't need anything other than to sign up and print out a barcode beforehand. Parking's free if you're National Trust...

I'm dithering over getting clipless pedals and racing shoes, it's cool to hear you talk about it.

Parkrun on Saturday mornings is probably an option though unlikely to be a regular thing, though I'm unlikely to start running in company until I've got past the stage where my body's not used to it and we're playing "which part is going to protest this time?" which I still am at the moment.

Hopefully when it quits protesting and as I get more used to the whole thing I'll stop being very slow as well...

On clipless pedals, the big gain for me so far has been in going up hills. Things should be more efficient on the flat as well but see above for the issues there. If I ever relocate my bike from Offord to Cambridge you'd be welcome to try mine out, though I think my feet are bigger than yours so you probably won't fit into my cycling shoes.

I have terrible cold feet cycling, but I can run in sub-zero temperatures and not have a problem. I conclude that running keeps the feet warm.
